Cheers to this moment

My name is Markus Mindaugas. On October 27th, 2009 I was sitting at Mozart’s Coffee Shop in Austin, TX looking around at the beautiful water, feeling the brisk fall breeze, when I had a satori. The idea for this website and a new way of life came to me.

I realized that I can stop resisting life and stop resisting myself – how I work, how my brain functions, how I get things done. I had been trying to fit myself into all these molds about “how to be productive” and “how to make life work for me”, etc.

And in an instant flash I said to myself “Forget everything I’ve read or known, from now on I will live entirely on impulse.

There was an overwhelming relief that came over my entire being once I realized that I could do this. Countless books, audiobooks, and productivity systems tried to teach me how I should be living my life to make it better, more efficient, more productive, blah blah blah. But very little of it actually stuck. As soon as I thought that I “had to do something” I started resisting it in the back of my mind. So I’m letting go of all of that.

There is nothing that I have to do.

This website doesn’t need to be anything in particular. I’ve let go of all expectations.

Even this page that I’m writing. I can stop it right here. And I can add to it or edit it later whenever I feel like it. Life doesn’t have to be any certain way. It can just be.
